On 16 March, the Foldtastic 4 took on the challenge of Sydney Coastrek 2018 to raise money for the Fred Hollows Foundation. We walked 60 kms - from Manly to Bondi Beach.
The Foldtastic 4 included Sonia Cruz, Jonathan So, Chris Deeble and myself. A special mention to Jessica Fraser who was both our penguin mascot and a lifeline - providing us with support, refreshments and motivation at crucial stages during the trek. It wasn’t easy, but it was certainly a memorable experience thanks to the support of the whole Sydney office who joined us for a visit at Circular Quay (at the 30km point). We have wonderful clients who donated very generously. You inspired us to complete the trek in the dark when our muscles and feet were aching and the fun was over! From Sonia, Jonathan, Chris and myself, thank you very much!
I am glad to say the entire Foldtastic 4 team has recovered and aside from some toenail damage there are only lasting memories of the magnificent day we spent walking around the Harbour foreshore – magic!!
In the past decade, the Coastrek event has raised over $20 million for the Fred Hollows Foundation.
The Foundation has restored sight to over 2.5 million people. That’s why we wanted to be part of Coastrek - to make a real difference to people who don’t have the same access to healthcare that we do.
Our team has raised $9,799 for the Fred Hollows Foundation with the generous support of our staff and valued clients. If you’d like to donate a little more to Fred, it’s not too late. You can donate here.
