Victoria fell into financial services while working her way through university. A part-time gig as a credit analyst with a fintech turned into a role as Legal Counsel and Commercial Manager once she graduated. The role covered everything from company secretarial to human resources and even an IPO, giving her broad commercial experience.

To expand her depth of knowledge in financial services she then moved into retail banking where she delved into the intricacies of secured and unsecured lending. Working in banking and fintechs gave Victoria a solid understanding of how financial institutions operate – but she wanted to maximise her learning opportunities so she decided to jump ship and move into private practice at The Fold, and she hasn’t been disappointed.

Victoria advises clients on a wide range of financial matters from Buy-Now/Pay-Later offerings and discretionary mutuals, to traditional credit contracts and disclosure documents. She approaches every task with a commercial lens and calm manner. Carefully reflecting on a problem and researching issues before putting forward a considered solution, she works in a systematic way to meet client deadlines.

She is also fluent in Korean. Arriving in Australia from South Korea at the age of 12, Victoria couldn’t speak a word of English and never imagined that she’d be able to study law. Fast forward over a decade and she’s proof that hard work and determination can get you where you want to go.

Currently studying for her Masters of Law, Victoria doesn’t have much spare time, but she does enjoy exercising her body as much as her mind. Her fit lifestyle includes everything from barre and pilates to crossfit and cycling. She’s also looking forward to being able to travel to the Greek Islands and Italy to soak up those Mamamia vibes.

Keep Calm and Carry On.
